We are seeking a Subcontract Program Manager to provide leadership for significant subcontracts in a large system of systems space vehicle and ground station programs. The selected candidate will report to the SVP of Programs and will work closely with the program team to ensure subcontractors meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts to ensure subcontractors meet objectives.
+ Interface with suppliers on ongoing programs and projects.
+ Negotiate subcontracts with suppliers, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions, payment schedule, performance, term liability, and delivery.
+ Oversee the supervision of personnel, including selection, work allocation, training, development, and problem resolution.
+ Motivate, coach, and mentor employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
+ Create and implement successful procurement plans that proactively address risk and provide confidence in supporting contract deliverable requirements.
+ Support all milestone program reviews both internally and customer-facing, including leading dry-runs and rehearsals to ensure critical executive feedback is received.
+ Monitor supplier schedule progress, cost performance, and risks monthly, and prepare monthly program financial reports for management review.
+ Develop accurate presentations and reports to support internal management and customer reviews.
+ Develop, track, and report visual metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); react to metrics by identifying and solving problems, making improvements, and advancing process control.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of Subcontract Program Management experience within manufacturing, specifically in Space, Aerospace, Defense, or military programs. Automotive experience is also acceptable.
+ Bachelor's degree.
+ Proficiency with MS Project, Jira, and MS Excel.
+ Experience in program management with subcontract engagements.
+ Experience working with suppliers providing components or modules.
+ Proficiency in technical partnership with engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Software).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Understanding of aerospace, spacecraft, and payload development programs.
+ Knowledge of contracts, business law, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
+ Knowledge of cost accounting principles and finance.
+ Proven success in managing projects through production material control/scheduling and engineering principles.
Work Environment
The role is based in a leading manufacturer of satellite products, primarily serving the aerospace and defense industries. The company provides end-to-end satellite solutions, including satellite design, production, launch planning, mission operations, and on-orbit support. The work environment includes a nice office space in Irvine next to Spectrum, with an R&D and Assembly building in Irvine off Barranca Pkwy. A new production building is set to open in April 2025. The role may require visiting other sites when needed. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $175000.00
