Program Manager Behavioral Science

The primary purpose of the Program Manager position is to Lead the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of activities for program support, technical execution of and operational management to the implementation for Health Equity (IHEQ) Research Team as part of the Behavioral Science department. Position reports to the Principal Investigator of the IHEQ Program and supports other internal stakeholders in the development and implementation of all assigned initiatives and projects. This position impacts the overall efficiency and productivity of the IHEQ Research Program and helps to create opportunities to enhance the mission and vision of the program.
**JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES**
**1. Lead the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of activities for Project ACCESS (Expanding Access to Cervical Cancer Screening through Primary HPV Testing and Self-Collection).**
* Implement and manage project operations for Project ACCESS which includes, but not limited to, managing project activities with community and clinical partners, ensuring timely transfer of data from project sites, ensuring timely delivery of project materials to project sites, communicating regularly with stakeholders at each of the sites, assisting with preparation of evaluation reports, assisting with preparation of dissemination materials.
* Lead project meetings which include pre-, during, and post-meeting tasks such as preparation of agenda and meeting minutes, scheduling, and video conference technical assistance.
* Manage project timelines and budget regarding deliverables, milestones, and long and short-term goals, guided by the vision and strategies defined by project leadership.
* Implement, with others, assessments, program evaluations and other reporting tools.
* Conceptualize recommendations for Project ACCESS activities based on data and public health theory and methods.
* Manage student intern(s) as needed
* Draft and submit quarterly and annual reports to CPRIT
* Manage program evaluation spreadsheet
**2. Lead the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of activities for Point-of-Care Technologies Research Program Implements and manages project operations for grants related to the development, evaluation, and implementation of new point-of-care technologies for cancer screening and diagnosis.**
* Implement and manage project operations for the Point-of-Care Technologies Research Program which includes, but not limited to, coordinating project activities with academic partners, ensuring timely transfer of data between involved institutions, ensuring timely delivery of project materials to project sites, communicating regularly with stakeholders at each of the sites, assisting with preparation of evaluation reports, assisting with preparation of dissemination materials.
* Lead project meetings which include pre-, during, and post-meeting tasks such as preparation of agenda and meeting minutes, scheduling, and video conference technical assistance.
* Manage project timelines and budget regarding deliverables, milestones, and long and short-term goals, guided by the vision and strategies defined by project leadership.
* Implement, with others, assessments, program evaluations and other reporting tools.
**3. Support other Research Projects led by the Implementation for Health Equity (IHEQ) Team through the planning, development, coordination and implementation of activities, projects, and special events.**
* Engage directly with internal and external collaborating stakeholders (e.g., FQHC's, CHC's, health systems), in an inclusive environment, relevant to the success of the project including relationship management (i.e., Site visits, check-in meetings).
* Manage project timelines regarding deliverables, milestones, strategic planning, guided by the vision and strategies defined by project leadership.
* Conduct assessments, reports and evaluations.
**OTHER DUTIES:**
Cultivates and maintains working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and community partners.
Engage directly with community members relevant to the success of initiatives.
Represent MD Anderson at cervical cancer screening events including local and national meetings.
Use expertise to identify operational issues and interacts with all levels of internal and external resources to resolve problems.
Create, write, and update print and online materials for publicizing and promotion of IHEQ research and activities.
Manage all study protocols
Responsible for travel arrangements within the Division/Department along with reimbursement and outcome documentation
Responsible for keeping up to date on relevant literature and public health practices in cervical cancer screening and communicating this information orally and in writing.
Serve as a subject matter expert in the community on cervical cancer screening topics.
Conduct literature searches and reviews.
Programmatic Support for the overall IHEQ Program.
Calendar and meeting management including scheduling, agendas, room set-up, presentations and other support materials, and meeting outcomes.
Compose correspondence: informal (notes, memos, and notices); formal (letters and official correspondence)
Maintain information tracking tools; implements document and information retrieval systems.
Gather materials for use in preparation of scientific reports, presentations, or publications.
Follow up on action items.
Provides general collaborative support to the Behavioral Science Department.
Develop reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.
Assist with project tracking and developing reports for collaborators, leadership, and other key stakeholders.
Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: Master's degree in Public Health or related.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
Preferred: Community outreach experience.
