Summary About the Position: This is a permanent position with US Army, Humphreys Engineer Center Support Activity (HECSA), Aviation Program located at Huntsville, Alabama. For more information on HECSA, please visit: http://www.usace.army.mil/HECSA.aspx Responsibilities Serves as the resident expert and government flight representative (GFR) for the oversight of aviation contractors flying fixed wing government owned and contractor owned crewed aircraft. Provides leadership and technical expertise that includes technical review of aviation contracts, flight and ground operating procedures, and mentors USACE Government Flight Representatives and Aviation Safety Officer. Coordinates with senior contracting officials for policy regarding all aspects of aviation contractor flight and ground operations. Implements the Quality Management System processes and standardized semi-annual surveys at all USACE locations where aviation operations are performed. Serves as the USACE primary point of contact for assigned programs pertaining to Flight and Ground Operational risks. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) aviation activities including safety, operations, maintenance pilot and ground station training; 2) Operating aspects of crewed aviation, including flight planning, mission execution and emergency procedures; 3) Communicating project goals, status updates, and technical information to diverse stakeholders, including leadership, technical teams and the public; AND 4) Implementing regulations and policy guidance for training, acquisition, technology+ development, and operations. Desired candidate will possess (current or previously) U.S. Military Officer Rated Pilot. Proof of current or previous experience as a U.S. Military Officer Rated Pilot will be documented via submitting a DD214 indicating "Pilot" or "Aviator" or other description as an U.S. Military Officer Rated Pilot. "Rated" refers to aeronautical ratings as authorized by Title 10, U.S.C. Resume should clearly state previous experience as a U.S. Military Officer Rated Pilot and proof of documentation.
