Program Manager - Development Processes

The Program Manager – Development Processes will be responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation and continuous improvement of processes and systems that support the company’s development initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Development Capital – Systems and Processes, this role will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline and standardize development processes, ensuring effective project execution and performance tracking across the entire portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a skilled program manager with a solid understanding of project management, process optimization, and system integration within a development or construction environment. This position is pivotal in ensuring that all development initiatives are executed efficiently, with consistent quality and within defined timeframes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with Development, Predevelopment, Procurement, Investments, Finance, and Accounting to develop, implement, and refine end-to-end development process enhancements from project initiation to execution, ensuring adherence to industry’s best practices and organizational goals.Work closely with the Director of Development Capital – Systems and Processes and System Administrators to ensure system tools and technologies are seamlessly integrated into the development process.Establish methods for continuous monitoring of project performance, ensuring alignment with established project goals, timelines, and budgets.Support the integration of key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reporting tools to measure development process efficiency and project success.Proactively identify potential process-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to reduce project delays, cost overruns, or other disruptions.Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of process improvements and system implementations.Create and implement training programs for development teams to enhance process knowledge and drive the adoption of new systems and tools.Manage change initiatives within the development teams to ensure smooth transitions when new processes and systems are implemented.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.Minimum of 7 years of experience in program or project management, with a strong focus on process improvement and system integration.Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and driving process enhancements in a development or construction setting.Experience with development lifecycle processes, from predevelopment through construction and closeout.Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and lead diverse teams towards common objectives.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and optimize development processes based on data-driven insights.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders at all levels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

10 or more years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years focused on process improvement in a development or construction context.Experience with portfolio management and project performance tracking tools (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, etc.).Proven experience in driving organizational transformation.Familiarity with financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control in large-scale development projects.

Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in implementing and refining processes.In-depth understanding of development processes.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process complex information and develop actionable insights for decision-making.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on long-term goals and improvements.
