Key Responsibilities:

The Program Manager -Engine Supplier Management are responsible for a supplier-based Engine or APU repair program in a manner that provides maximum operational support at minimum cost in accordance engine maintenance contract and in compliance with all maintenance program requirements. This role has extensive cross-functional visibility across engine planning, procurement, finance, engineering, reliability, fleet, quality and is responsible to support Procurement in the development and negotiation of contracts while continuing to lead their assigned outsourced engine vendor program. Must be willing to travel up to 30%.

Engines fleets: CFM56-7, GE90, GEnx, CF6-80, PW2000, PW4000, V2500, Rolls Royce RB211, or APU fleets

Relationship ManagementServe as primary liaison between United and Supplier on the programCoordinate requests from Maintenance for support or resources from supplierProjects and ProcessesChampion projects to drive cost reduction, address quality, reliability, campaigns or other performance deficiencies, and be responsible for supplier capacity reviewsParticipate in Quarterly Business Reviews and annual Aircraft and Propulsion Working Together Team with Key Suppliers, Operators, and collaboratorsDevelop and maintain knowledge of engine maintenance program, shop procedures, and of current or emerging technical conditions specific to the engineCorrelate with Quality and Engineering to ensure supplier aligning with UA maintenance and commercial guidelinesInitiates process for new engine repair supplier setup in coordination with engineering, planning and QA/QCParticipate in decisions on each engine with Engineering, Quality and Planning to clarify cost or contract implications, if any, to make recommendations or advise on conflicts or opportunities with the engine, and to liaison with supplierOperational SupportEnsure that spare engines are available to support operations at all times, per contract allocations and maintenance requirementsTake steps to avert or resolve shortages, and alert management of all significant or chronic shortfallsInitiate request for leases per contractEnsure that Engines are picked up, inducted, repaired, and redelivered in accordance with contracts and maintenance requirements, without delayReview engine packages to ensure that work being accomplished is equal to work being requested and paid for, and to verify that material sources, repair-buy decisions, LLP configuration, and other cost drivers are appropriate and beneficial to the programCoordinate with Fleet Management on aircraft inductions and exits to ensure efficient use of engine assets

Budget and Forecast oversight and accountability

Support finance team for accurate financial planning and analysisCoordinates supplier invoice and invoice credit processing with VM leadership team, Finance and United APAudit, analyze and challenge supplemental and CPH invoicesContract ManagementSupport Procurement in the development and negotiation of contractsRequest performance remedies per the contract.Carry out contract for routine program management and coordinate with Procurement for contract defaultsQualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):College degree or 10-years experience with turbine engine repair processes & proceduresMinimum 2-years' experience in turbine engine repair processes & procedures, supply chain management, procurement or contract managementAbility to read and understand sophisticated contractsAbility to review invoices for accuracy and contractual complianceAbility to convince, persuade and negotiate with suppliersStrong eye for businessUnderstanding of technical informationProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Powerpoint and ExcelMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Bachelor's or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering subject areaMBA, MS, FAA Airframe & Powerplant LicenseA&P Certificate, LEAN Certification, PMP Certification10-years experience working with engine maintenance contractsExperience working directly with Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney/IAE and / or GE AviationExperience administrating engine maintenance agreements including cost-per-hour agreementsExperience leading teams through indirect influenceProcess improvement experienceLine maintenance training or engine borescope experience
The base pay range for this role is $87,780.00 to $119,680.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
