Job Purpose
The Program Manager of Fellowships and High Impact Learning will oversee and manage university wide initiatives which promote funded, external opportunities for high-impact academic and professional development, especially in the categoryof nationally competitive fellowships, as well as strategic and supportive efforts to guide applicants pursuing these opportunities. Working closely with the Fellowships Faculty Advisor and reporting to the Director, Education Abroad, the Program Manager will expand local and international opportunities as part of the presidential College to Career (C2C) initiatives.
Essential Functions
Conduct extensive, multi-mode outreach to faculty, students, and staff to increase the number of students applying for and participating in transformative opportunities for academic and professional development and create a culture of fellowships that generates awareness and support from the university community as a whole.
Provide responsive, affirming, and expert advising opportunities for current and former students who engage with the office, offering personal guidance and application assistance that emphasizes the opportunities for personal and professional growth that result from application process itself.
Collaborate effectively with the Fellowships Faculty Advisor and manage the efforts of Project Coordinators and Student Assistants and other related university offices.
Work effectively with campus partners and assemble and regularly convene a committee of faculty, staff, and student fellowship liaisons.
Oversee the development of comprehensive processes, resources, communication plans, and campus partnerships and develop and maintain useful Canvas, web, and print information resources.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases and metrics of fellowships and transformative opportunities, student applicants and potential applicants, and faculty connections.
Cultivate a detailed knowledgebase of fellowships and transformative opportunities and work to regularly incorporate best practices and positive trends in the field of fellowships and non-fellowship opportunities through relationships and collaboration within the National Association of Fellowship Advisors (NAFA) and other related organizations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Higher Education and Student Affairs, International Education or related field.
Experience
Expert (established subject matter expert, 7+ years experience)
Prior international experience, advising skills, preferably in higher education.
Expertise in advising on fellowships and study abroad opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of international higher education.
Ability to adjust priorities based on departmental needs.
Knowledge of U.S. Department of State, regulations, and exchange programs.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
