*_SUMMARY DESCRIPTION_* The IT Systems Administrator for the State 911 Department’s (Department) PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) Operations Divisions will support and manage mission-critical systems used across multiple statewide Department administration buildings, training centers, and 911 call centers, with a focus on the Berkshire RECC and its service area. We estimate that seventy-five (75) percent of this role will be focused on the Berkshire RECC. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of IT infrastructure that supports emergency communication operations. The administrator will monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems, collaborating closely with PSAP managers and other staff to provide seamless, reliable support to dispatch personnel. In addition, this position will play a key role in implementing upgrades, managing system configurations, and supporting a robust cybersecurity framework to protect sensitive data. This includes oversight of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, as well as the ability to respond swiftly to any system disruptions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, a deep understanding of emergency communication environments, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. *_Please upload both Resume and Cover Letter for this position when applying._* *_DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES_* * *__*Manage, configure, and optimize servers, storage, and network systems to support continuous 911 operations. * Perform regular updates, patches, and routine maintenance to ensure system availability and performance. * Provide direct technical support to PSAP staff and member agencies by diagnosing, resolving, and preventing technical issues affecting dispatch systems. * Respond promptly to incident reports, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. * Enforce data security protocols, perform vulnerability assessments, and apply security patches. * Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, safeguarding sensitive emergency response data. * Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades in line with PSAP operational needs and emerging technology. * Collaborate with vendors to install and configure new systems, hardware, and software. * Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, testing recovery solutions periodically to ensure readiness. * Participate in continuity planning to support uninterrupted PSAP operations. * Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and incident reports. * Generate and present reports on system performance, incidents, and project updates to PSAP management. * Work with other IT teams members, EOTSS, and PSAP managers to address cross-functional technical needs. * Coordinate with IT consultants for a unified IT and security posture. * Provide training to PSAP personnel on new technologies and best practices for using IT resources. * Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. An Associate's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. III. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience. V.
