Program Manager - Nuclear Fuels

You will report to the Resource Operations Manager in the US PWR Fuels Division. This opportunity is a remote position based in the United States. We are only able to consider candidates authorized to work in the United States. We do not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

 

Your Day to Day

Manage large and highly complex, utility-specific Low Enriched Uranium Plus (LEU+) fuel projects for the Americas PWR Fuels Organization to ensure consistency across varied Westinghouse expertise, with a focus on first-time engineering execution. Provide managerial responsibilities such as overseeing direct reporting or matrixed project managers and team members to deliver program goals. Partner with business development leaders to set strategy and to capture growth opportunities that promote strategic goals. Maintain utility partner relationships through regular communication activities including monthly exchanges with LEU+ leaders. Develop LEU+ timeline and ensure utility-specific issue resolution (technical, regulatory). Maintain direct responsibility for utility-specific program financial performance. Analyze needs and develop unique internal/external customer satisfaction and project performance metrics. Manage project performance to meet quality, schedule and financial goals as set forth by Westinghouse, customer and regulatory requirements. Ensure program sub-projects are delivered on time and within budget Manage program resource assignments such as labor, equipment, and suppliers to ensure program goals are achievable. Maintain understanding of program scope and make recommendations to modify the program to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent. Recognize latest critical technical or regulatory issues which would affect project delivery. Raise awareness and develop a recovery plan. Identify partner issues, interests, and concerns to better define program understanding and provide direct technical input/feedback. Provide leadership perspective on options and recommendations.

 

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you bring the following to the team:

B. Sc. degree in Engineering or other technical-related area. Advanced degrees desirable. 15+ years professional experience in Program and Contract management. Project Management Institutes Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or willingness to obtain with our assistance. Track record delivering quality on time and within predictable cost controls. Organizational experience with planning, budgeting, operations and goals. Advanced skills in finance, business development, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. Knowledge of team building, planning techniques, business management principles and practices. Articulate spokesperson and networking. Demonstrated management skills across cultures, languages and locations. Advanced experience working with Microsoft Office tools. Working knowledge in project schedule, cost and risk management processes and associated tools (e.g., Primavera, SAP, Active Risk Manager, or other related tools). The ability to transform data to information for visual reports and presentations; database concepts to manage data within systems; the interaction of company functions that are touch points to projects (Finance, Legal, Quality, and Supply Chain).

Preferred

Microsoft Project expertise 10+ years of project management or program management experience in the nuclear industry Project Controls-related certification (scheduling, estimating, earned value, risk, etc.) Knowledge of nuclear industry and related associations.
