Responsibilities

 

The Program Manager, Organizational Development and Learning—Skills Management as a member of the Talent Management team, will provide subject matter expertise on the skill strategy to help ensure Ascension’s workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to meet current and future business objectives. This role will also bring thought leadership and collaborate to design and implement solutions across skills, competencies, talent assessment and development, and workforce strategy that can be scaled across the system. 

 

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a highly capable Program Manager to contribute expertise to our Talent Management and Organizational Development focus areas.  This role will effectively execute Ascension’s associate and leader skills strategy, which drives growth, improves performance, enhances our associate’s experience, and supports the organization's overall success, programs, and development initiatives.

Proactively partner with appropriate stakeholders to develop a skills strategy and roadmap, translating business strategy and culture aspirations into talent and skill needs, staying ahead of industry trends.Define and maintain a structured skills framework aligned with the needs of the business and working with stakeholders to continuously update the skills taxonomy.Serve as a subject matter expert to partner on system design and implementation along our journey towards becoming a skills-based organization to achieve our skills strategy aligned with Ascension’s desired associate experience. Collaborate, as a member of the Talent Management team, on a cohesive talent strategy and portfolio of solutions, including talent assessment, movement, and development aligned with organizational, functional, and individual needs. Responsible for the governance of Ascension’s Leadership Competencies and skills architecture to enable our talent strategy end-to-end and meet evolving business, talent, and labor market needs.Partners with stakeholders to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current skills and competencies within the organization, taking a research based, data driven approach to skill mapping, role profiles, assessments, and measurement.Identify gaps and areas for improvement through tools like skills inventories, performance reviews, and associate surveys.Work closely with functional stakeholders in all areas of the business (e.g. human resources and HR technology, clinical education, clinical operations, IT, enterprise-wide business functions) to identify the skills required for each role; collaborating and partnering to align and develop appropriate program pathways.

 


Requirements

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences Master’s degree in related field preferred (I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, Learning Design & Technology, etc.)Previous experience in the design and implementation for the transformation to a skills-based organizationAbility to think strategically and translate business needs into development solutionsProven ability to work independently and handle multiple tasksStrong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlinesExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationProficiency in working with technology and data Knowledge of and proficiency in general software systems and project management tools (ie. GSuite, Smartsheet)Experience working in a large organization (healthcare preferred)
