Summary:
Reporting to Director of Well-being develops implements and evaluates well-being programs for employees. Works collaboratively with Employee and Occupational Health Services team Benefits team department managers and healthcare workers to promote a culture of well-being at all Brown University Health affiliates. Develops and enhances Brown University Health�s Total Rewards initiative with specific focus on Health and Well-being and Life and Community domains.
Responsibilities:
� Consistently applies the corporate values of respect honesty and fairness and the constant pursuit of excellence in improving the health status of the people of the region through the provision of customer-friendly geographically accessible and high-value services within the environment of a comprehensive integrated academic health system. Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
� Participates in the development and implementation of Team Brown University Health events. Organizes Team Brown University Health Captains for approved physical activity (walk run cycle swim etc.) and volunteer events.
� Functions as an expert resource in all Living Well community outreach efforts to Brown University Health department managers and healthcare workers. Identifies and coordinates employee volunteering opportunities that may contribute to a culture of well-being.
� Serves as point of contact for all Team Brown University Health events and provides regular updates to Team Brown University Health members to help promote and grow initiative. Monitors Team Brown University Health email intranet and external web information providing engaging and impactful content.
� Maintains accurate database of Team Brown University Health membership participation and impact. Assesses program/event impact and recommend enhancements to further engage employees.
� Serve as liaison to community health organizations including the American Heart Association American Lung Association cancer prevention organization Save the Bay community food bank state and local parks etc.
� Develops and promote programs that encourage the use of outdoor spaces.
� Assists with on-site fitness center programming and external fitness discount offerings. Provides guidance to employees regarding available fitness benefits and actively promotes wellness and well-being programs and services.
� Monitor employee discount (�perks�) offerings and work with Brown University Health marketing and communications to keep employees informed of additional Life and Community benefits.
� Oversight of annual Season of Giving Campaign through collaboration with all Brown University Health hospital ambulatory and administrative sites. Coordinates with internal department leaders to design and implement processes to facilitate employee engagement in system wide and site-specific Season of Giving initiatives. Accurately monitors and reports on all Season of Giving activity.
� Maintains and enhances professional knowledge of employee health and well-being programming to support a culture of well-being.
� Participates in related ongoing studies education-related professional activities and affiliations to maintain professional expertise.
Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor�s degree in exercise sciences physical sciences nursing or related field required. Master�s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
� Three to five years related experience in employee well-being program preferably gained in a similarly complex and diverse healthcare facility.
� Experience should demonstrate strong assessment and analytical skills high level of written and verbal communication skills ability to coordinate and plan events effective interpersonal and presentation skills.
� Knowledge of variety of software applications such as word processing spreadsheet and database is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in office and patient care environments with some lifting of up to 30 pounds required. Work requires travel to various Brown University Health sites and community events.
INDEPENDENT ACTION:
Performs independently within the department�s policies and practices. Refers complex problems to the director when clarification of departmental policies and procedures are required.
