Program Quality Director

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Director of Quality to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, WA. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about manufacturing the highest quality parts and tooling, while also reducing unnecessary work. This role will shape the vision of what quality is at Janicki Industries by continually evaluating quality processes and our employee’s training to ensure both consistency in products and customer services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leads and mentors a team of quality personnel Actively engages with production and engineering teams to promote quality as a positive asset from project initiation to completion. Drives project performance towards zero defect parts and the highest quality tooling through mentorship, training guidance, and lean processes Establishes, implements and maintains processes required for the QMS Enforces quality policies, processes and philosophy throughout the organization Ensures company adherence to quality related regulatory and government agencies, including AS9100, NADCAP, & ITAR processes. Communicates quality philosophy, vision, and methods to key personnel in the organization Leads quality objectives, initiatives, and training across the company to ensure consistency Uses lean tools to analyze quality processes to improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and remove waste Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills to meet expectations and maintain a high level of satisfaction Create, maintain, and monitor Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) program to reduce error and avoid reoccurrence

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent (or associate degree in these fields plus minimum 4 years industrial experience). Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED. Manufacturing experience with practical application of quality assurance a plus. Commercial/military aerospace experience is a plus.     Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to constructively interact with managers, other departments, customers, sub-contractors and auditors. Must have strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Reasoning ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Experience in composite fabrication is preferred. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Salary range for this role is between $100,000 - $175,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
