Program Registrar, Trauma Registry (REMOTE)
Overview The Trauma Registrar is responsible for the collection, entry, abstraction, maintenance and reporting of data for the trauma department as required by appropriate regulatory agencies. Utilizing analytical, cognitive and leadership skills, the registrar shall utilize collected data for research, epidemiology, prevention initiatives and performance improvement. The registrar analyzes and reports on data from state trauma registry and individual facility information. This position works in a matrix or service line environment and requires knowledge of hospital protocols and systems as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Responsibilities Job Description Collects and enters data into the registry in accordance with department timelines Identify and report quality improvement issues identified in the initial data entry of the patient record. Analyzes and reports on data from state trauma registry and individual facility information. Downloads data and report from National Trauma Data Bank and State Trauma Registry (MNTrauma). Maintains security of database to ensure patient confidentiality. Validates data to ensure the integrity of the registry. Provides reports from the registry as requested. Acts as back-up administrative support coverage. Participate in data related projects or meetings as needed Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver. Fulfills all organizational requirements Completes all required learning relevant to the role Complies with all relevant laws, regulation and policies Qualifications Required One year of demonstrated experience in hospital programs and processes. This includes the ability to utilize data, knowledge of medical terminology, support and manage change, communicate effectively and work collaboratively with hospital partners Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Preferred Associates degree in business or healthcare administration ICD-9 CM knowledge and CPT coding with AAPC or AHIMA Coding certification RHIT CSTR EEO Statement EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status
