Program Senior Group Manager
Citi Ventures Inc. seeks a Program Senior Group Manager for its San Francisco, California location. Duties: Plan, direct, and coordinate venture capital investment strategy. Source and invest in leading Fintech, commerce, and enterprise software startups. Conduct financial analysis and modeling to assess potential returns of investments in such startups. Direct organization’s engagements with executives in two major business units, Wealth and US Personal Banking, in particular its Cards and Retail Services divisions, which have partnerships with leading merchants and brands. Use these engagements to understand businesses’ strategic priorities and roadmaps, share points of view on industry trends, inform sourcing of new startup investments, and to introduce portfolio companies and prospects. Examine startup companies’ products and services, business models, distribution strategy, financial performance and prospects, market potential, team competencies and legal matters. Manage presentation of relevant industry trends and landscapes and preparation of articles for newsletter and media outreach. Organize Fintech events ranging from startup workshops such as Fintech showcases for select executives, to large events such as Fintech summits that include clients, corporate and financial investors and startup founders. Make outreach to startups in relevant investment themes. Conduct due diligence on potential investment targets and prepare investment materials, including investment decks, models, and deal memos. Identify and articulate investment strategic rationales. Oversee deal approval governance process covering Risk Review Forum and Investment Committee. Monitor financial or operational performance of individual investments to ensure portfolios meet risk goals. Drive post-investment portfolio monitoring processes, including preparation of Quarterly Portfolio Reviews. Introduce existing and prospective portfolio companies to colleagues and clients for commercialization purposes and help startups navigate organization. Lead ideation and execution of potential marketing activities and events for Fintech team. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols. Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Management or related field and 4 years of experience as a Program Senior Group Manager, Principal, or related position involving corporate venture capital investing in the fields of commerce and enterprise software. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 6 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. 4 years of experience must include: Venture capital investing in the fields of commerce and enterprise software; Engagement with business executives such as in a corporate venture capital setting; Financial analysis and modeling; Due diligence processes; Deal structuring and negotiations; Portfolio monitoring; and Risk assessment and management. 2 years of experience must include: venture capital investing in fintech.
