SUMMARY:
This position serves as the Program Specialist I and acts as liaison with school districts, industry, and the community to build relationships and to promote academic programs. It will include duties at the main campus, DFW area ISD locations, online, and potentially other sites. This position will report to the Associate Director of University Partnerships. They will coordinate communications regarding admissions requirements and scholarship offerings and will be housed in our Dallas location. This position supports and coordinates recruiting programs, events, and activities for strategic enrollment. Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well with a team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Collaborate with statewide educators to provide virtual and onsite sessions to showcase the University’s program offerings
+ Fosters relationships with campus stakeholders and with high schools, secondary education systems and community-based organizations throughout the University’s service areas.
+ Respond to inquiries from various internal and external stakeholders (e.g., educators, school and district support staff and leadership, community partners, TAMUC colleagues, etc.)
+ Must have general knowledge of admission requirements and scholarship offerings
+ Coordinates recruitment, communication plans, and events.
+ Participates in alumni events, recruiting programs, networking events, and activities for enrollment
+ Organizes meetings with prospective students to promote strategic university initiatives
+ Compile data and prepare reports (e.g., registrations, attendance, activity logs, etc.) to track communications, relationships, site visits, and attendance.
+ Establish and maintain system of follow-up, through personal contact and correspondence with students to encourage success.
+ Ability to travel at least 75%
+ Performs related work as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. No prior experience required.
+ Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Multi-task and work well as part of a team. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Interpersonal skills and ability to plan and organize effectively. Ability to work independently once given a project. Detail-oriented with exceptional writing and editing skills, including the ability to present concepts verbally; confidence as a communicator and presenter is a must. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
+ Licensing/Professional Certifications: Drivers’ license
+ Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel at least 75%
+ Other Requirements : Normal work week is 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but there may be occasional work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekend.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of related experience.
