Through this community of healers, scientists, and scholars, Rutgers is equipped as never before to transform lives. Posting Summary Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Program Supervisor to work in the Physician Assistant Studies and Practice Department.
The Program Supervisor provides high-level, confidential administrative support to all PA Department leadership, including the Chair, PA Program Director, and HOPE Director. This individual manages administrative functions and supervises the staff within the department and liaises with SHP Dean’s office and other central resources.
The Program Supervisor will also independently coordinate and manage projects to meet goals and timelines. Additionally, the Program Supervisor creates and maintains data collection systems that support quality outcomes, such as ARC-PA accreditation. This individual also independently analyzes operations and recommends improvements that increase efficiency and improve the environment for faculty, staff, and students.
This position requires occasional work in the evenings and on the weekend.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Independently coordinates and completes departmental projects, analyzes departmental data and produces reports, oversees and coordinates departmental events. Manages and supervises the staff and performs tasks of those supervised when indicated. Maintains familiarity with each staff member’s job functions to be able to mentor and assist with staff tasks as needed. Updates and maintains administrative policies and procedures applicable to the department; identifies, investigates, and develops solutions to administrative inefficiencies. Responsible for the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, transfers and disciplinary action of assigned staff and provides recommendations to department leadership on additional staff positions. Ensures staff are adequately trained to carry out their responsibilities and/or take on new responsibilities. Ensures that the staff adheres to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs. Responsible for all aspects of the PA program budget and assists with departmental budget management. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
