General Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Programme Planning Manager, the Programme Planning Coordinator is a key part of the team helping to manage the creation and delivery of accurate monthly programming grids for Discovery Family, RealTime Africa and assisting with creation of Discovery Science and Animal Planet grids.
Key Responsibilities:
Creating linear programming schedules and inputting the schedules into broadcast software IBMS (full training will be given)Monitor channels’ performance and implement short and long term initiatives to ensure channels maintain their competitive edge, and to highlight and recommend longer-term considerations for discussion with management.Work with Research to build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of audiences and competitors and to identify opportunities and threats facing the channels.Build strong two-way relationships with Programming, Media Planning, Listings, Research and NOS, seeking their input into scheduling strategy where appropriate and sharing scheduling strategy accordingly.Ensure timely production and communication of programming grids produced by programmes planners.Assist with ad-hoc duties such as creating highlights PPT decks as directed by Sr. Programming Manager.Requirements:
Passion for television and content, particularly factual content.Strong English language skills, you will be required to work in English.Excellent computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerpointExcellent admin skills and attention to detailGood communication and interpersonal skillsStrong planning and organisational skills and can work to deadlines.A team player and able to work effectively on own initiative when requiredWe offer:
