One-year relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education. Nature & Purpose of Position Provides skilled analysis of information system requirements, develops or modifies information system designs, tests and debugs existing programs, and produces programs that implement those designs for the Police Research Center’s Criminal Research Information Management and Evaluation System (CRIMES) project. Primary Responsibilities Programs and designs systems for the Police Research Center’s Criminal Research Information Management and Evaluation Systems (CRIMES) project. Develops database applications for a web-based environment employing technologies such as NET Framework, Microsoft SQL Server, Angular, Typescript, ASP.Net Core, Php, jQuery, JavaScript, ASP.Net Web API, C#, Visual Basic, HTML5, CSS, XML. Writes codes for newly developed web-based computer modules. Responds to agency requests for problem resolution. Communicates frequently with over 40+ Partner Police Agency representatives currently regarding system performance and development needs, travels twice monthly to Partner Agencies to install new modules, discuss system enhancements. Designs and implements minor system changes using third and fourth generation languages, client/server, Extensible Markup Language (XML), web scripting, and database technology to build systems. Assists in writing and maintaining specifications. Assists in leading team projects. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within department, workgroup, as well as other University departments. Implements complex policies affecting the departmental level. Work requires a moderate level of judgment and reasoning to solve problems. Work requires attention to detail as errors may be serious.
