We are seeking a Full-Time Programmer Analyst III to join the Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials within the Biostatistics & Data Science department at the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. The department supports various clinical trials with a robust, in-house Electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) system and extensive data analysis service. We are seeking a candidate familiar with web application development, using MS Transact-SQL on the back end, and who is comfortable designing and implementing MS SQL Server databases.

The Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials (CCCT) is a large, full service clinical trials and data management center for NIH, CDC & privately sponsored clinical trials. Position applies programming and analysis knowledge and skills obtained from a concentrated degree program in computer science as well as work experience to develop and maintain specialized web-based applications that support clinical research. The position requires interpersonal skills necessary to interact with CCCT clients and staff, from graduate assistants to principle investigators, to ensure successful requirements analyses and the development of applications that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Consults with CCCT PI’s and Project Managers for each study and analyzes requirements to develop and maintain Asp.Net web-based applications that support all clinical research activities. Assists in creating electronic case report forms / surveys using appropriate tools. Maintains existing Asp.Net applications supporting clinical research activities. Designs, develops and deploys MS SQL Server databases to support all clinical research activities. Designs, develops and deploys reports using Microsoft tools integrated with MS SQL Server databases to meet study data analysis and reporting requirements. Other duties as assigned.Preferred Certification/Skills:
Experience with development of applications that support departmental activities, using Microsoft software development tools and languages: Visual Studio, Asp.Net, Visual Basic.Net, C# as well as Microsoft Transact SQL.Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or relevant experience in lieu of education.Minimum Experience:
Three and a half years of programming experience.Preferred Experience:
Three years of experience in requirements analysis, as well as in development and maintenance of web-based applications using Microsoft tools and languages: Visual Studio, Asp.net, VB.net, C#, MS Transact SQL and SQL Server database development. Familiarity with REDCap (optional) would be a plus.Physical Requirements:
