The Senior Programmer Analyst assumes direct responsibility for program analysis, coding, testing and implementing application systems. Analytical duties include meeting with analysts to identify technical requirements and document technical design. Responsible for managing the programming needs of multiple projects. Programming duties include the design of user interfaces, reports, data base files and structures. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining unit test plans and documentation. The position will also be responsible for the technical support and maintenance of new and existing applications, as well as update, monitor and complete service desk tickets and projects within stated time lines and service level agreements. This person will also be asked to provide technical guidance and mentoring of other colleagues and will adhere to and contribute to the development of standards, processes and procedures to ensure productive and efficient software development.This person will,
With limited guidance from Senior Programmers and/or Business Solutions Manager, designs, codes, compiles, tests, debugs, modifies and documents new or existing application programs following accepted standards, procedures and guidelines. Integrates bank systems with various third party applications, environment and vendors.
Meets with analysts/users to gather technical requirements and writes appropriate system design.
Identifies, researches and resolves program, machine, data or system software problems to maintain production system SLAs.
Provides technical guidance, assistance or advice to colleagues less familiar or experienced with programming languages.
Evaluates user requests to determine specific tasks and effects on new and existing programs and systems.
Composes test cases and test plans from specifications and code that are consistent with testing methodology.
Highly knowledgeable of relational database concepts and can apply these skills using Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database systems. Defines data elements, designs structure for database, documents data elements and writes stored procedures, scripts and transformation packages for use by other systems and colleagues.
Recommends application level process improvements to supervisor.
Plans own work using resource plans to complete assignments within time lines.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team. Possesses highly developed written and verbal communications skills, expressed through participation in project team meetings, specification development and presentations.
Leads small teams (including colleagues and external contract resources), analyzing work flow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines. May lead work orders, following established project management methodology.
