JOB DESCRIPTION:


Researches, develops and writes documentation components for a software developer audience. Completed documentation components must demonstrate an understanding of programming documentation principles and development, describe complex state-of-the-art software architectures, and describe how to develop software applications using the Software Developer Kits/Device Driver Kits, APIs, or developer tools being documented. Derives documentation from project source code as part of this process. Works with more complex technologies and a wider array of technologies. May develop code samples and sample applications for developer documentation. Skills: 3-5 years work related experience required. Excellent technical writing skills required. The ability to read or write a high-level programming language and understand the principles of high quality software development is required. May require the ability to develop code samples and applications. Must possess expert understanding of one or more major technologies, such as database design and development, networking, client/server applications, security, multimedia, or device drivers, etc. Must have demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, broad but related areas of technology. The ability to be proactive in solving problems is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Work related experience may substitute for degree.



QUALIFICATION DETAILS:



Developer documentation for the Microsoft CRM family of products. Recently acquired several new formerly ISV products; integrating them into include more functionality into Microsoft CRM. Microsoft dynamics marketing. Variety of add-ons, Microsoft CRM is the core. Most impact for developer documentation is one that allows a customer that is using Microsoft CRM to create a customer portal.



Once we get going on this, what are the things that are most important to you - is it finding all the right skills, sticking to a budget or timeline, or something else along those lines?

Depend on candidate;

- skills beyond Microsoft stack. Android and ios development

Don’t have to ramp up on related technology of web development; would rather hire a developer that can write than a classic MS technical writer position NOT lean on product team; hit the ground running. Can be coached in writing style and using MS tools.



Moving towards sprints, they will need to keep track of what they’re working on through TFS; involved with planning as going through the phases of the release; 6-months releases. Initial phase - Planning/learning the features, planning possible documentation that might include text, samples or creating diagrams or videos?Hands on testing of the product under development. Candidate will ideally know the CAPS system



Writer 3

The ideal candidate would be someone who has:

1. Web development experience

2. CRM development experience (or any business application system integration, if it isn’t Microsoft CRM)

3. Technical writing experience

4. Experience in a customer service/sales role - business application user.

5. Cross-platform development experience (Java,Python, iOS, Node.js)

6. Mobile application development experience



MS CRM (preferred), good web developer experience, writing experience, visual Studio, Knowledge CAPS offering system, APIs,



Writer 2

1-year minimum of experience.



No MS experience necessary, but preferred. Candidate will be moved to the top of the list if they have this skill set.
