PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Program Assistant based out of our Central Office. As the Program Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, providing crucial assistance for program management by tracking all activities taking place in the program, and recommending appropriate improvements based on client feedback. The Program Assistant must be able to work with the different program directors and their staff. This is an excellent position for a proactive, creative and organized admin looking for a meaningful workplace. Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with Partnerships Manager, Senior Director of Operations, and site staffKeeping track of all activities taking place in the programs, events, trips, and partnerships Managing all program media with the Central office Coordinating with the Central office volunteers for each program Keeping track and organizing all donations Identifying different partnerships, events and trips for each program Researching and providing literature regarding current trends for the age group each program services Attending community fairs and meetings to promote the programs Coordinating special events for the shelter residents Obtaining client feedback and recommending appropriate program improvements Other duties as directed by supervisorQUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferredAt least one-year experience working in a related field Knowledge of Microsoft office and excel Ability to create reports and survey's Ability to network with outside community vendors Strong written and oral communication skillsCOMPENSATION/EEO:
