Based in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office, the successful Project Accountant will be a hands-on team player who will assistmultiple project managers and staff on a daily basis.
Project Accountants are responsible for the life cycle of project accounting.The main focus of a project accountant is toassist the Project Manager with the non-technical management of a project, emphasizing project financial health.
In the role of Project Accountant 2, we'll count on you to:Monitoring weekly and monthly project expenditureMonitoring and analysis of project status/completionCreating and tracking invoicesCollections managementProject budgetingAssists and administering of contracts, subcontracts and change documentation as necessaryQuality Control of contract proposals and feesMonitoring earned value reports, and cost to complete reportsMaintaining contract compliancePerformance of various specialized accounting functions of moderate complexity, such as research and working with bothinternal and external auditors, work within client required software to upload/track invoicing and ensure that procedures
and practices are followed in accordance with company policy, accounting principles and contractual obligationsWorking within HDR’s project accounting system to ensure documentation as well as accurate accounting records are
maintainedPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in accountingExperience working with NMDOT projects a plusRequired Qualifications
Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience Familiar with Earned Value Management Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented Ability to handle confidential information Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
