This role plays a critical part in ensuring that projects meet their financial objectives, comply with accounting standards, and align with company goals. The Project Accountant also works closely with project managers to analyze project costs, profitability, and cash flow. Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze project financial reports, including cost-to-complete estimates, variance analysis, and profitability assessments.Monitor and report on project financial performance, including revenue recognition and cash flow management.Support the month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring accurate and timely project financial reporting.Review and approve project invoices prepared by Billing Specialists, ensuring compliance with contract terms and accuracy in billing.Create and maintain the billing assignments and schedule for the Billing Specialists to meet internal and external deadlines Qualifications and Requirements: 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project accounting or cost accounting.Proficient in Architectural or Engineering billing processes, with a strong preference for experience in public project billing.Deep knowledge of project accounting principles, financial analysis, and cost control.Familiarity with GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards.Proficiency with financial software (e.g., Deltek, Ajera, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).High school Diploma (required).Associates Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Benefits and Perks: $25-28/hourMedical Benefits HolidaysTraining & GrowthYour New Organization:Professional services firm established in 1956, with eight offices across the state of Texas. Offering civil, structural, and subsurface utility engineering, planning and landscape architecture, survey, right of way, and construction inspection services to public and private clients throughout Texas.

The base salary range for this position is $25-28/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
