Job Title: Project Accountant
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and monitoring project budgets, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, performing cost analyses, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, collaborating with project managers, reconciling financial discrepancies, and documenting financial actions.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and monitor project budgets to ensure projects stay within budget by conducting regular budget reviews.Manage accounts payable and receivable by overseeing all financial transactions related to the project.Prepare financial reports and generate regular financial statements for project stakeholders.Perform cost analyses to assess project costs and profitability.Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.Collaborate with project managers to develop financial plans.Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information to resolve any financial issues.Document financial actions by maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions for future reference.Essential Skills5+ years of Project Accounting experience, preferably from an AEC firm.Proficiency in accounting, project accounting, and invoicing.Experience with data entry, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliation, month-end close processes, and journal entries.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.Experience with ERP systems, preferably BST.Strong understanding of construction accounting.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPA certification is preferred.Ability to handle invoicing and tracking effectively.Self-starter with strong revenue forecasting skills.Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The specific days for office attendance are flexible. The team includes two accountants (one CPA and one non-CPA) based in New York, with the Compensation Controller and CFO located in Australia and Los Angeles. The project involves supporting a diverse airport project with a $25 million budget, providing global exposure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00
