Position Summary:
The Project Accountant will be responsible for project specific accounting functions, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billings, Assignments include initiation of, or participation in various projects, including researching information, providing analysis, and compiling data to convey relevant information.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Review project contracts, identify/resolve issues, manage compliance of the project
+ Enter the contract values and cost budgets into the Company’s accounting system and process any subsequent modifications.
+ Maintain appropriate documentation of OCIP/ CCIP jobs.
+ Review and approve supplier and subcontractor invoices related to a project.
+ Review and approve timesheets for work related to a project.
+ Review account totals related to proper coding of project revenue and expenses.
+ Review and process all change orders.
+ Analyze and notify project team and management of potential cost overruns.
+ Monitor equipment assigned to jobs.
+ Perform the monthly invoicing, time and materials, and firm fixed priced contracts, ensure billings are in accordance with the contract.
+ Review unbilled jobs and report findings to management.
+ Monitor retention both on the accounts payable and accounts receivable side of the contract.
+ Monitor collections and follow up with customers as needed.
+ Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings.
+ Report on project profitability (budget vs. actual) to management.
+ Monitor and track the cash position of the project.
+ Contribute to the maintenance of the WIP (Work in Progress) report as needed.
+ Obtain waivers/releases from suppliers and subcontractors.
+ File pre-liens, liens, releases/waivers.
+ Act as liaison among internal (Sales, Estimating, Project Manager, Field Personnel, and Accounting) and external (suppliers, subcontractors, customers, lenders) team members to assist in the successful completion of the project.
+ Occasional visit project sites as needed.
+ Close out jobs upon project completion and conduct post job review and submit to management
+ Ensure project performance compliance with company standards.

Required Qualifications:
+ Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Superior communication skills written and verbal
+ Ability to work on a team and build working relationships within all levels of the organization
+ Possesses a math aptitude and understands basic accounting principles
+ Adept in use of MS Office and aptitude for learning ERP systems
Education and Experience:
+ Associates degree preferred
+ Will consider equivalent experience on a case by case basis
