Project Accountant
Description We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team in the Architecture industry, based in Morristown, New Jersey. The role involves processing and maintaining customer applications, records, and inquiries, as well as monitoring customer accounts and implementing necessary actions. Responsibilities: • Handle customer credit applications accurately and efficiently • Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer credit records • Address customer inquiries in a timely and detail-oriented manner • Monitor customer accounts and implement necessary actions as needed • Facilitate smooth communication with Project Managers regarding progress billing • Establish contract billing systems and ensure correct project expense recognition • Work with consultants to ensure correct project expense recognition • Monitor receivables and notify Project Managers to ensure prompt payments • Compile periodic project financials to track profitability and progress • Apply skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Requirements • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Project Accountant or similar role within the Architecture industry. • Strong knowledge and experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. • Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations. • Solid understanding of the General Ledger and Journal Entries. • Ability to handle Month End Close procedures effectively. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work output. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Knowledge of local, state, and federal financial regulations.
