Project Accountant

Insight Global is seeking a Project Accountant to assist with vendor setup, accountability, financial tracking and accounting associated with federal environmental construction projects.
Day to Day:
* Work with project management team to set up vendor profiles in Viewpoint--ensuring all contractual documents are properly uploaded, W9 information, assisting with vendor quotes, payment terms are marked, etc.
* Provide financial analysis and reporting to Project Managers to keep them informed on status of the project, including monitoring reimbursable and job cost expenses, budgets, percentage-of-completion accounting, work-in-progress, recognition of cost, recognition of revenue, etc.
* Generate accurate and timely job cost reports at a project level; analyze findings, compare actual to budget, and review with key operations personnel on a scheduled basis
* Review rates of labor, overhead and burdens, and depreciation and suggest policy changes to improve numbers.
* Analyze costs of job materials and other suppliers or supplier costs and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors
* Collections: Maintain good working relationships with client counterparts and assist in the collection of receivables to include generations of past due notices, statements, and demand letters; maintain and prepare the monthly collection reports; review and monitor status of delinquent accounts.
* Review contract documents prior to set up in ERP system; responsible for project set up and close out; Manage project payables and timesheet posting
* Maintain by entering new and updated customers, project, and account information
* Review job details monthly and prepare any necessary correcting or reclass journal entries
* Reconcile all vendor invoices and purchase requests
* Maintain billing rate schedules in ERP system and ensure such schedules are current and approved by appropriate parties
* Maintain, track and update project-related records, including contracts, change orders and additional services
* Drive the month end job cost forecasting process to ensure the timely submission of cost-to-complete estimates by key operations personnel, integral to month end revenue recognition by Percent-Complete-Method (PCM)
* Accounts Receivable: Post client payments accurately and reconcile accounts receivable
* Assist in the ongoing improvement and refinement of internal control procedures and financial consultation with the Accounting Manager
* Assist employees as needed (i.e.: forecasting, job analysis, revenue recognition, etc.)
* Contribute as a member of the Shared Services team by proactively addressing any issues.
