Description
The Project Accountant will be responsible for meeting with project delivery teams ensuring alignment to cost plans, categorizing project costs correctly, and driving conversations with Project Managers to ensure accurate forecasts by period, category, capital, and expense. This role is a collaborative role and regularly interacts with FP&A and Fixed Assets.

Full accounting experience is required, including ability and understanding of General Ledger Reconciliations and Consolidated Financial Statements
Experience in a project-based accounting role, handling project portfolios of at least $5-7 million (any variety - IT, engineering, construction, etc.)
Experience with any project management tool
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to the level of being able to pull data from multiple sources and presenting in a consumable format (i.e. creating dashboards)
Experience in Power BI (or other data analytics tools)
Proven experience leading and/or driving strategic initiatives i.e. automation, implementation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Clarity is preferred, not required
Highly prefer candidates with Power BI experience as well as experience in an Agile environment
Work Environment
This role offers 100% remote flexibility as long as an employee is within 2-hour of a local Retail Business Services office. Employees are allowed to go into the office as they please, however no one from the project accounting team goes in. That said, this person is the financial business partner for large-sized projects at RBS which requires frequent interaction with senior level leadership and executives. While it's a remote position, employees need to be presentable at all times. Professionalism is a critical performance metric in this role. This team is in the midst of several implementations and technology transformation projects, therefore this person needs to be solution-oriented. Project Accountants meet regularly with project delivery teams to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment to cost plans. They will need a solid understanding of project life cycles and having conversations with Project Managers around the performance of each project.

The pay range for this position is $34.25 - $40.25/hr.
