Project Accountant
Description We are seeking a Project Accountant to support our client's project teams by ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance. The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing financial aspects of multiple projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, billing, and financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong communication skills to collaborate with project managers and finance teams. Key Responsibilities: + Monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial performance. + Prepare and review project financial reports and variance analyses. + Ensure accurate and timely project billing and revenue recognition. + Work closely with project managers to track costs and resolve financial discrepancies. + Manage accounts payable and receivable related to projects. + Assist in forecasting and cash flow management for projects. + Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and accounting standards. + Support internal and external audits related to project finances. + Identify opportunities for process improvements in project accounting. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in project-based industries (e.g., construction, engineering, consulting). + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Deltek, or SAP). + Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders. + Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
