Project Accountant
Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Project Accounting Manager, this person will manage the accounting aspects of the business units and projects effectively and efficiently, with a helpful and friendly attitude of service to all customers. They will also work in conjunction with the Operations Director, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, and Contract Administrator.

Responsibilities:

Perform all accounting functions relating to assigned projects (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costs, etc.).Set up jobs and contracts in Timberline, which includes entering budgets based on an approved schedule of values.Record subcontractor commitments provided by the Contract Administrator and approved by the Project Manager/Design Manager, comparing amounts to appropriate line items on the schedule of values.Review approved subcontractor progress payment applications and reconcile them to previous submissions.Compile submitted payment requests from subcontractors and suppliers, compare them to Job Cost reports, and include applicable amounts for general conditions and fees to produce a payment request to be submitted to the owner.Obtain releases of liens from all suppliers and subcontractors for the previous month’s payment before issuing checks for further payment.Maintain ongoing record of retainage being held on subcontracts/vendors.Review contracts for release of retainage and notify the Project Manager of any upcoming releases.Monitor special payment arrangements to ensure that time-sensitive payments are made on time.Enter owner change orders, changes to estimates, subcontracts, subcontractor change orders, and purchase orders.Perform job close-out duties, including reconciling commitments, archiving files, and closing the job in the system.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.4+ years of experience with project accounting in a construction setting (supporting at least 15+ projects at a time).4+ years of experience with job cost reports, AIA billing, and setting up jobs and contracts into ERP.3+ years of experience with reviewing approved subcontractor progress payment applications and reconciling them to previous submissions.3+ years of experience entering owner change orders, changes to estimates, subcontracts, subcontractor change orders, and purchase orders.3+ years of experience performing job close-out duties, including reconciling commitments, archiving files, and closing the job in the system.3+ years of experience with an ERP such as Timberline, Sage, Acumatica, or Procore.3+ years of experience working within pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas within Microsoft Excel.Work Environment

Minimum of 3 days onsite in Blue Bell, PA. This role will report to the Project Accounting Manager and work on a team of 20+ in project accounting. The company offers a state-of-the-art facility in Blue Bell, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $47.00/hr.
