Project Accountant
Description We are providing an opportunity for a Project Accountant in Encinitas, California, 92024-3513, United States. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity. As a Project Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining project workflows from award to closure, assisting Project Managers, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and billing. Responsibilities: • Facilitate the set up of projects, extra work orders, or other amendments according to contract terms. • Be involved in the creation and processing of contracts. • Examine contracts for specific accounting requirements and ensure specialized client billing needs are met on time. • Oversee project labor and expenses to confirm accurate posting to projects. • Address billing related issues until they are fully resolved. • Collaborate with Project Managers and Directors for accurate and consistent financial reporting and project billing. • Bill clients on a monthly basis. • Respond effectively to inquiries from clients, vendors, or staff. • Prepare and follow up on accounts receivable statements and past due invoices. • Manage project audits when they occur. • Perform various duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory for this role. • Experience with Costpoint is essential. • Familiarity with Deltek and Deltek Vision is required. • Must have a solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR). • Proven experience in Project Billing is a must. • Must have knowledge of WIP - Work In Progress. • Must possess excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data. • Strong communication skills are necessary to liaise with clients and colleagues. • A strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation. • The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage time effectively. • A proactive approach to work, with a willingness to learn and adapt. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis. • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
