Opportunity Summary

The Project Accounting Manager maintains financial records in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to meet with all federal, state, local and regulatory requirements. Oversee the credit, collection, financial, and accounting activities of the company and provide financial information to different levels of management.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of accounting and record keeping for assigned client projects Review all staff prepared journal entries to maintain accounting records Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly, quarterly and annual reports Meet all financial reporting deadlines Oversee preparation of monthly cash and GAAP forecasts Review staff prepared balance sheet reconciliations and various expense reconciliations to support financial statements Assist in the preparation of annual budgets Review staff prepared monthly and year to date analyses from budget Read and understand related contracts and correlate to monthly journal entries toensure compliance with contracts (i.e., loan, fuel, power, etc); contract compliance Perform cash management duties (including cash waterfalls) Work with outside CPA in preparing the year-end financial statements, and any internal or external audits Consult with outside CPA, as needed, regarding various internal and external issues Ensure fixed asset records and depreciation are maintained Oversee accounts payable transactions which include preparing accounts payable checks for processing Interact professionally with clients, outside agencies, and company personnel regarding financial issues Oversee and review bank reconciliations Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures Perform other related duties as assigned

Working Relationships

 This position reports to the Director of Financial Services PurEnergy Management Services

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $77,600 to $103,500

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least 5 to 10 years experience in a work related industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a work related industry. CPA is preferred. Must exhibit good reading, writing and strong communication skills Ability to plan, schedule, assign, check and approve work Computer experience, including knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Word Strong decision making skills and the ability to pay close attention to details Strong organization, record keeping and time management skills Must be self motivated and able to perform most tasks with little or no supervision and in team environments Experience in a professional business environment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This is a fulltime position that requires 40 working hours per week. Additional time may be required during heavy workloads or to meet deadlines Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, as well as handle long periods of screen time All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a pre-employment drug screening Close mental and visual application needed to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, using a computer terminal and extensive reading Work is performed in an office setting where there is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions Operating the following equipment: computer, calculator, photocopier, telephone and automatic paper shredder Ability to speak, hears, and performs repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects; climb stairs
