Job Description
The Project Development Specialist (PDS) position is critical to the growth, success, and strategic objectives of the company. The PDS will work with the outside sales force, specification sales personnel, and administration teams to identify and close job-based sales opportunities. This role requires the use of interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills to qualify, quote, and follow up on job-based leads to assist in closing sales in the project pipeline.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and timely project job quotes for customers.Clearly and accurately qualify all job leads by using probing, open-ended questions.Conduct weekly pipeline calls with the outside sales team.Timely track and nurture projects in the pipeline to close sales and meet revenue and gross margin objectives.Maintain clean and accurate data in Salesforce (Projects, Accounts, Contacts, etc.).Regularly update manufacturing with large projects closing in the pipeline.Occasionally perform take-offs from landscape architect or civil site plans.Undertake other relevant projects as designated by the Supervisor.Essential SkillsDemonstrate exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building techniques over multiple modes (phone, email, text, etc.).Exhibit exceptional initiative, positive approach, enthusiasm, accountability, persistence, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to close sales using a variety of sales techniques and skills.Support the revenue and gross margin objectives of the outside sales team.Ability to work with a diverse population of potential and existing customers as well as team members.Be independent, learn new concepts quickly, and work with minimal supervision.Keep the department manager informed of results, key information, and issues.Additional Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge of CRM systems.Advanced experience with Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Exceptional organizational skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Work Environment
The work environment is hybrid, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Visalia Office. However, if the candidate is not within the Visalia area, a fully remote position may be considered. The company provides all necessary hardware for the role, including a laptop, monitors, keyboard, and mouse. The hourly rate is $26. The ideal start time is in March to allow for training purposes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
