Project and Operations Manager, Medical Affairs

The Project and Operations Manager, Medical Affairs, will support the Canadian Medical Affairs team with the commercialization efforts for BeiGene’s Marketed and Pipeline assets by supporting the execution of Medical Affairs programs and deliverables, many in partnership with teams/individuals across the organization. This individual will provide operational and technical support across all Medical Affairs initiatives including responsibility for vendor / HCP contracting and coordinating/managing events conducted by the Medical Affairs team.  The role will include project oversight, budget management, medical planning support, cross-functional coordination, goal/performance oversight and operational support to the Canadian Medical Team.

The Project and Operations Manager (POM) will be expected to partner, communicate, and collaborate with other cross-functional partners in Canada and within North American and Global Medical Affairs. The incumbent will therefore need strong execution, collaboration and communication skills.  The Operations Manager may also be asked to lead special projects.

The incumbent will be responsible to help assure that activities are executed within expected scope, budget and timelines; will/may play a key role in supporting the following areas:

Medical Education initiatives.Scientific Communications/ Publications.Medical Information Capabilities.Investigator Initiated & Collaborator Research Program.Medical Affairs Advisory Boards & Symposia.Medical Conference / Congress Support.Training Support for MA staff.

Core Territory: Preferred - Hybrid with up to 3 days/wk in downtown Toronto office (across from Union Station).

Essential Functions of the job:

Lead the project management, and support the execution, of new and ongoing Medical Affairs projects.Lead the financial and contracting activities of the Medical Affairs Team while providing executive-level support for Medical Affairs and Canadian leadership.Facilitates Medical Affairs budget planning and management including forecasting, long range planning (LRP), phasing and prioritization.

Support effective meeting management through clear agendas, concrete action items and tracking of deliverables.Responsible for actively participating/leading pre- and post-approval medical planning & support of assigned medical affairs activities.Support the execution of regional medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultant, and investigator meetings), as requested.Collaborate with the members of the Canadian Medical team to establish MSL Congress plan for each major meeting (ASH, EHA, ICML, +/- ASCO, ESMO).

Build strong relationships with internal team and cross-functional partners to achieve overall company goals.Be accountable for compliant business practices.Identify continuous process improvement and development opportunities. Assist tracking and reporting of MSL goals and objectives.

Computer Skills:   PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Veeva).

Education Required:

BSc (or an equivalent level of training and/or experience).

Other Qualifications:    

Minimum 5 years within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry and/or other relevant fields preferred.High level communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational and cross functional collaboration skills.Team player - respectful, accountable, and collaborative.Prior successful collaboration with field and home-office based functions is required.Working knowledge of applicable Federal and Provincial Compliance guidelines and regulations is expected.Experience with the ensuring adherence to SOPs and policies is expected.Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.

Travel:  Work related travel approximately 5-10%
