Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for significant aspects of larger projects and will oversee smaller projects. The role includes daily design and technical development, supervising and producing Construction Documents through CAD and BIM, and coordinating QA/QC of consultants' work. The Project Architect will also manage project files and communicate specific project tasks to clients and the team.
ResponsibilitiesPerform code review and ensure compliance with project budget and schedule.Select, evaluate, and implement design components for projects.Evaluate existing conditions and formulate responses to challenges.Supervise and produce Construction Documents using CAD and BIM.Coordinate and perform QA/QC of consultants' work.Conduct Construction Administration for select projects.Maintain advanced knowledge of construction techniques and material selection.Keep project files organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Document and communicate specific project tasks to clients and the team.Comply with internal project budgets and manage team hours.Design and implement project scope of work and adhere to schedules.Manage between 1 to 15 projects at a time.Essential SkillsProficiency in Revit is a must.Architectural license is required.Minimum 8-12 years of experience in education or public/state projects.Technical experience in all phases of design, documentation, detailing, and construction.Ability to staff and train junior designers.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor or master’s degree from an accredited program.Experience with public works and educational architecture.Knowledge of AutoCAD, higher education, and construction.Capability to work as part of a team and lead select projects.Participation in prospective client interviews.Exemplify company values at professional functions, events, and networking.Ability to observe, identify, and communicate potential future projects to leadership.May need to visit construction sites once a week depending on the project.Work Environment
Our office is located in Somerville, NJ, and has a work-hard, play-hard environment. The team consists of 25 people with 4 principals, 3 of whom are active. We offer a hybrid schedule after 90 days and half-day Fridays. Team outings, bagel Fridays, and happy hours are part of our culture. The day-to-day can be fast-paced and hectic at times. You will work on new construction projects for schools and office buildings requiring steel frame construction. Knowledge of building codes and public sector experience is a plus.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00
