We are seeking a Project Architect to join our team in Orlando. This role offers the opportunity to support a variety of large, high-profile projects throughout Florida, including involvement in the new performing arts center in Sarasota. The ideal candidate is a recognized practitioner and licensed Architect who possesses strong design and technical abilities and manages implementation documentation. You will manage the firm’s resources (people, processes, and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency, and aptitude. Additionally, you will teach and mentor staff and effectively embody and express the firm’s values and mission.
Responsibilities
+ Lead consultants and technical team efforts to facilitate effective execution of project design and the delivery of implementation documents.
+ Work with PIC/PM in developing and managing the production schedule, including effectively defining and meeting deadlines.
+ Prepare, review, and coordinate implementation documents prior to issue, ensuring they conform to QA/QC standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
+ Manage the technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
+ Lead the development of code analysis and confirm code and zoning requirements for assigned segments of the project are met.
+ Coordinate design group interaction both internally and externally, including leading consultant team work sessions.
+ Coordinate with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants, and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, respond to requests for information, clarifications and modifications, obtain approvals, and adjust the scope of services.
+ Prepare client presentations and may present design concepts and drawings.
+ Perform product research and assist project designers with materials and systems evaluation to make proper selections.
+ Oversee the appropriate application of products and materials available on the market and best practices.
+ Lead team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination with other disciplines.
+ Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings and document as appropriate.
+ Prepare and/or review meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings.
+ Invest actively in the professional development of staff through mentoring, performance management, and career planning.
+ Develop, recognize, recruit, and grow diverse talent.
+ Resolve conflict effectively and encourage a healthy team environment.
+ Promote the firm’s principles of 'design excellence' through the integration of responsible and sustainable design practice with the art of design.
+ Understand fundamental accounting principles and the project accounting process.
+ Collaborate in and may be responsible for delivering a project on defined budget requirements.
+ Maintain accountability to the project plan and planned utilization rate.
+ Understand contracts and recognize additional services needed.
+ Participate in the pursuit and marketing of potential projects.
+ Support PIC/PM and may lead the business development process by identifying new opportunities, marketing current clients for repeat business, and assisting with proposals, budgets, and schedules.
Essential Skills
+ Accredited professional degree in Architecture.
+ Architectural Registration required.
+ 8+ years of experience, including performing arts or similar cultural venues.
+ Proficiency in Revit.
+ Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and 3D modeling software.
+ Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign software.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
+ Strong knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.
+ Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines, and QA/QC process.
+ Advanced knowledge of building codes and the ability to research and incorporate them into implementation documents.
+ Strong presentation skills.
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
+ Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships.
+ Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Sustainable design accreditation preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
