Are you interested in growing your career in the behavioral health field? Do you want to make an impact on the lives of children and adolescents? We provide residential treatment programming for youth ages 11 to 18 that have a variety of behavioral health needs such as self-injurious, risk-taking, and/or aggressive behaviors. Our team works directly with clients to address each of their individual complex needs—building upon his or her strengths. Description: The Coordinated Approach to Low-risk Misdemeanors Project or CALM is a combined effort by Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court and Applewood Centers to provide alternatives and true diversion from the juvenile justice system for youth being served in Cuyahoga County.  As the name implies, CALM seeks to intervene with youth who are engaged with law enforcement for low-risk domestic violence offences. Applewood Centers will be providing screeners and coordinating linkage for youth who are brought to the program by the police. Rather than have the child go through the intake process through the Detention Center and Courts for low level offenses, the CALM diversion clinic assessors will communicate with the police and guardian to divert the youth from Detention Center placement and explore alternatives such as kinship placement or respite placement for us to 3 days.  If the guardian choses either alternative, the CALM assessor will complete a youth screener, a safety plan, and connect the youth and guardian with ongoing services to provide youth/family support around the issues that lead to the police being called to the home. This program provides services 24/7 and coverage is met through shift assignment.  Candidates must be able to travel to our office if the youth needs an intake and handoff but most of the role is remote.  There is no Medicaid billing. Requirements:  + A Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling, an LSW or LPC is preferred along with prior experience in the delivery of mental health services in the home/community to children and families with complex needs is essential. + Bachelor level licensed social workers with 3-5 years of clinical and diagnostic experience will be considered.
