Project Chief
Job Title: Project Chief Job Description The Project Chief - Propulsion Systems Air Induction and Exhaust is responsible for managing technical programs for one or more vehicle lines. This role serves as the key point of contact between the Induction and Exhaust systems design team and various functional areas such as vehicle program management, engineering departments, and manufacturing. The primary objective is to ensure that the Air Induction and Exhaust systems meet all functional and performance requirements while adhering to cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality objectives. Components include body-mounted heat shields, hot and cold end exhausts including brackets, air box with filter, dirty and clean side ducts, and charge air cooler ducts for turbo applications. Responsibilities + Lead air induction and exhaust systems responsibilities from initial concept phase through end of life. + Provide strong support for concept studies, initial packaging, function targets (e.g., NVH, restriction, backpressure), cost and weight analysis, prototype procurement, supplier management, sourcing, tooling kickoff, validation, launch, program maintenance, change management, value optimization, and quality improvement initiatives. + Coordinate technical issue resolution pertaining to engineering and quality at all stages of the program and across all functional areas. + Support plant development and launch activities onsite as a visible member of the launch team representing Air Induction and Exhaust systems. + Serve as the launch lead for Air Induction and Exhaust systems during the launch phase, responsible for triage and resolution of issues, while communicating status and managing resources. Essential Skills + Proven experience as a project manager. + Technical expertise in powertrain projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication and coordination abilities. Work Environment The work environment involves collaboration with multiple functional areas including vehicle program management, engineering departments, and manufacturing. The role requires onsite support during plant development and launch activities. The Project Chief will be a visible member of the launch team, representing Air Induction and Exhaust systems, and must be capable of managing resources and resolving issues efficiently. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.77 - $55.77/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
