Job Description
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children’s) is seeking an experienced Chief of Staff to serve as the Project Consultant for the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer
The Project Consultant partners with executive leaders to plan and execute complex, cross-functional projects related to system goals and initiatives. The Project Consultant manages large-scale, system-wide projects from planning through execution. This includes the development and implementation of action plans, oversight of project teams, and other project management duties as necessary to ensure successful completion of assigned projects within specified timeframes.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides high-level consultative, technical, and decision-making support to executive management regarding system goals and initiatives.
Manages large-scale, system-wide projects from planning through execution. This includes development of project plans, managing meeting agendas and minutes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and production of executive-level written communications, including Board presentations, executive summaries, and memos.
Works closely with Executive leader on division and leader’s priorities.
Partners with Vice Presidents to meet division objectives.
Facilitates leadership development and onboarding of new leaders.
Partners with leaders on human resource matters, including organizational design, leadership incentives, and succession planning.
Develops executive-level presentations and communications for internal and external audiences.
Manages planning and execution of Board Committees, including all material development, logistics, and communication.
Supports Chief Administrative Officer in managing and escalating risk.
Supports/implements change management efforts for division.
Engage with external partners to support management of key priorities and initiatives.
Manages and mentors project manager, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
Candidate QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Experience
At least seven years of large scale, enterprise-wide project leadership experience.
Experience interacting with seniormost executive leadership on a regular basis.
Experience in a large-scale, multi-site healthcare setting is preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field is required.
A master’s degree in business administration, public health, health administration, or related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-performance work environment.
Able to translate complicated material or issues into effective and thoughtful project plans and executive-level communications.
Superior organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Strong content creation skills. Able to transform complex subject matter into visually appealing, easily digestible content.
Demonstrated leadership skills in facilitating and leading cross-functional teams. Must be able to effectively motivate a team, without direct reporting relationships.
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated skills and aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, staff development, and time management.
Professional & polished. Ability to interact with executive leadership and board trustees.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products. Proven ability to develop presentations in PowerPoint with excellent slide storytelling skills.
