Position: Project Control AnalystLocation: McLean, VA Type: Full-Time, Contract to hire
Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Project Control Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management systems like Deltek and the ability to manage complex contract types such as Cost-Plus, T&M, and Fixed-Price. This role involves ensuring accurate project setup, monitoring, and financial reporting, with a focus on optimizing billing and revenue terms. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.Experience Required: Strong Deltek experience, including project set-up for Cost-Plus, Time & Materials (T&M), and Fixed-Price contracts.Key Responsibilities:Set up projects in Deltek with various contract types (Cost-Plus, Time & Materials, Fixed-Price), ensuring proper billing and revenue terms.Collaborate with project managers to define and implement project structures, budgets, and forecasts.Ensure compliance with contract requirements and corporate financial policies.Monitor project performance, identifying risks, and recommending corrective actions.Prepare project cost reports and financial analyses, including revenue recognition and profit margin reviews.Provide accurate and timely reporting for project costs, revenue, and billing status.Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements related to project performance.Maintain and update project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and invoicing.Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure proper revenue recognition for different contract types.Act as a liaison between project management and finance teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.Identify areas for process improvements within project controls, billing, and financial forecasting.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.3+ years of experience in project controls, financial analysis, or related roles.Advanced proficiency with Deltek or similar ERP/project management systems.Experience with Cost-Plus, T&M, and Fixed-Price contracts, including billing and revenue recognition.Strong understanding of project accounting principles and contract financials.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Preferred Qualifications:Experience in government contracting or working within a regulated industry.Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance.
