Project Control Analyst

Seeking a highly motivated and proactive Project Control Analyst to oversee and manage the operations and maintenance (O&M) budget and coordination for our DIII-D fusion facility. The ideal candidate will be an analytical self-starter who is able to handle complex budgeting tasks, provide performance analysis, and manage schedules for experiments and maintenance tasks. You will be a key player in the daily operations, working closely with the Operations Director, Control Account Managers (CAMs), and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of all operational activities. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** O&M Operations Budget Management: + Manage and track the O&M operations budget ($35M), including compiling and forecasting from eight (8) system Control Account Managers (CAMs): Device Power, General, Tokamak, Machine Integration, Mechanical Systems, Power Systems, Neutral Beam and Radio Frequency. + Track procurements and resolve procurement issues promptly. + Lead monthly operations budget meetings and provide detailed weekly and monthly labor and financial reports to CAMs. + Analyze performance metrics and provide insights to the Operations Director and CAMs, identifying variances and discrepancies for resolution. + Prepare and present performance metrics for the monthly DIII-D Leadership meeting. + Collaborate with Director and CAMs to optimize labor utilization and resolve issues. + Participate in mid-year budget planning and assist in Fusion Energy Science (FES) financial deliverables for both current and future fiscal periods. + Contribute to revenue planning and forecasting activities. + Prepare basis of estimates for proposals and requests for information (RFIs). + Generate ad-hoc reports as needed to support operational needs. O&M Operations Coordination: + Oversee and coordinate the DIII-D O&M schedule, ensuring alignment with facility goals and project timelines. + Lead daily stand-up meetings to review system status, experiment lineup, and address immediate operational needs. + Maintain the facility schedule for experiments and maintenance tasks, ensuring timely execution. + Coordinate in-vessel tasks and collaborate with stakeholders to manage vent planning and other related activities. + Coordinate contract work for facility maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. + Manage Safety Watch coordination to ensure safety protocols are followed during operations. + Compile and update slides for the Weekly Experimental Meeting, including the Pit schedule, Physics schedule, and Tokamak reports. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. + Ability to work on-site and interact with cross-functional teams. + Demonstrated initiative and ability to take ownership of projects with minimal supervision. + Strong analytical skills and a self-starter approach to problem-solving. + Proactive attitude in identifying and resolving operational issues. + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to various stakeholders. + Ability to adapt and adjust in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. + Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
