Project Controls Specialist - Cost
POWER Engineers, Inc., one of the nation’s strongest energy-related engineering and environmental consultants, is currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist - Cost Controls.
Disclaimer: The candidate selected for this position may work remotely full-time at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Project Controls Specialist works closely with the Project Manager in the overall management of the project. This individual must have an intermediate understanding of complex projects and how they work, high levels of cost knowledge, and the ability to interact productively with key members of a project team with a variety of backgrounds. An intermediate level of understanding of Earned Value Management is also a must. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Identify work scope, technical sequencing, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)Communicate with various project teams and internal work groupsWork with engineering managers to ensure the schedule represents the execution planReport project progress to project manager leads and provide visibility to critical deliverables through regular meetingsUtilize look-ahead schedules to help manage the work with internal teamsPrepare cost performance and cash flow projections utilizing budgetManage changes and keep teams aware of changes to the budget and scheduleUpdate individual tasks and Project Performance Indicators as indicated on progress updatesReview and report on project accruals and expenditures.Assist with project closeoutIdeal candidate should be a self-starter and able to work independentlyRequired Education/ExperienceBA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Construction ManagementAdvanced MS Excel skillsCandidate must have 4 years of professional experienceDesired Education/ExperienceElectrical utilities and power distribution experience is desirableCertification from AACE or PMI is desirableERP, P6, and MS Project knowledge is desirableAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level. DOE Salary: The pay range for this position is $80K - $95K annually; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
