Job Description
Under general supervision, this role involves managing, controlling, and reporting on project costs. The Project Controls Analyst (PCA) is responsible for collecting and reporting performance data, tracking changes to project scope, and conducting cost analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial acumen and analytical skills, supporting the financial management of projects, including budget creation, work breakdown structure (WBS) development, invoicing, and milestone tracking.
ResponsibilitiesKeep the project manager informed about the project's financial and schedule status, identify potential issues, recommend solutions, and escalate prolonged problems to senior managers.Assist in the financial management of projects by helping to create work breakdown structures, budgets, track invoice milestones, review invoice charges and backups, and implement and monitor forecasts and project cash flow.Review subcontractor invoices against their Terms & Conditions and Purchase Orders to ensure financial oversight.Establish methods and procedures for cost analysis, scope control, trending, and reporting.Oversee the development of earned value analysis, project status reports, and financial reports.Essential Skills4-6+ years of experience in project controls, cost analysis, Earned Value Management, and Cost Performance Index.Cost budget experience of 1-10 million for previous project experience.Previous experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, ICI, Transit & Rail, Power Generation, and Nuclear.Proficiency in cost control, SAP, project control, accrual accounting, and financial reporting.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience building out templates and reports for EVM and CPI.Strong analytical skills to prepare data, run reports, identify problems, and highlight issues from the data.Work Environment
We are currently working a hybrid schedule, with flexibility to work in the office on Monday and Tuesday, then remotely for the rest of the week. The work hours are on a 4-day schedule, Monday to Thursday. The project controls team, when fully staffed, consists of a PCM with 2-3 PCAs. Projects involve a variety of maintenance contracts and construction projects, mainly focused on Electrical Projects, with budgets below 25 million per project. Currently, all projects are at Bruce Power.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00
