The Project Controls Engineer (PCE) duties will vary as required to support the Project and the Project Manager. His/her first responsibility is to conform the estimate into budgets and implement the control tools to effectively manage cost on the project. The PCE’s role will concentrate on the tracking and trending of cost and progress, and he/she will work closely with project team members, which may include project managers, superintendents, and estimators.
JOB DUTIES
Conforming the project Estimate into a Control Budget by cost account and loading it in Ecosys for cost control. Set up in Ecosys the Earned Value Progress for the project. Perform daily field walk downs to verify claimed progress. Perform daily review of craft timesheets for correct cost coding. Perform daily review of Material Requisitions and Subcontracts for correct cost coding. Perform weekly reporting of the Project Cost and Project Progress, providing analysis of any deviations from the budget and recommendations. Perform Change Control on the project by keeping the Project Change Log updated accurately, and by reflecting approved change orders in the Project Schedule and Cost Budget. Perform Project Trending and Forecasting and working with the PM to Develop on a monthly basis a Cost at Completion. Issue the monthly KPR (Key Project Report) for senior management review. Assist Project Managers in the development of delay claim impacts. Attend various meetings with customers and with the project team.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
One (1) to five (5) years of project controls (cost) experience. Ecosys experience preferred but not required. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Perform functions efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision. Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work well within a deadline driven environment. Perform functions efficiently and accurately. Professional attitude and always conduct oneself in a positive manner. Must respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
