Primary Responsibilities
The Project Controls Intern/Co-Op will work as part of a team serving clients in the New England area offering real-world experience on exciting projects.
· Perform assignments under the direct supervision of Project Controls professionals or Project Controls Manager
· Work with the scheduling team to assistin the development and update of project schedules, review of construction schedules, and take part in forensic analysis of construction claims
· Help develop a graphical representation of project plans
· Help prepare presentations and reports
· Work with estimating team to assist in quantity takeoff from engineering plans, update the cost estimating database, participate in the review of construction change orders and preparation of bottoms-up cost estimates
· Obtain updated pricing for construction labor, materials, and equipment
· Track project files and store in web-based project document controls system and company’s server
· Assist with construction administration support tasks such as attending meetings to take meeting minutes, update tracking logs, check and report on progress status
· Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
3.0 GPA or higher preferred2 years completed toward degreeStudents with at least one prior internship in the transportation industry preferredConsideration only given to local candidates available to start in January 2025Minimum three-month commitment and working at HDR Boston OfficeRequired QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program Attention to detailPossess strong problem-solving and communication skills Basic Microsoft Office skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
