Project Controls Intern - AZCO (Field Opportunities)
**Description** The Project Controls Intern is responsible for supporting Project Controls and Operations on various projects through cost controls and scheduling\. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: + Assist with performing non\-routine cost control assignments which require the selection and application of AZCO’s defined control principles, techniques, technical knowledge, and resource monitoring of construction activities\. + Assist with calculating material and work quantity requirements, monitor progress, percent complete, etc\. + Assist with supporting supervision through identifying potential cost overruns and reforecasting\. + Assist with updating construction forecasting to reflect updated plans and provide cost data for such items as change requests, bid comparisons, etc\. + Assist with performing tasks required to develop and maintain budgets for a portion of a project\. This includes labor rates, invoices, collecting actual rates, monitoring progress\. + Assist with providing technical assistance to jobsite supervision under the direction of the Project Controls Manager\. + Assist with performing non\-routine scheduling and planning assignments required to develop and maintain schedules for a portion of, or complete project\. Includes collection of actual quantities installed per schedule, assess progress data supplied by others, and visual inspection\. + Assist with supporting supervision through preparation, monitoring and updating forecasts and schedules\. + Assist with developing detailed construction schedules with construction management\. May assemble data from variety of sources including A/E, client engineering, other contractors, and the like\. + Assist with updating construction forecast to reflect most current plans and requirements\. + Interface with other operations departments to provide scheduling data for items such as subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and resolution of potential schedule/work problems\. + Assist with calculating/preparing various comparison reports, charts, and tables for project analysis\. + Assist with drafting construction schedule network\. Enters data into computer, debugs and corrects computer data\. + Assist with developing primary schedules and maintaining man\-hour forecasts and reports schedule variances per established deadlines\. + Assist with preparing special reports, studies etc\., requested by the client and/or project management\. + Complies with all policies and standards\. + Performs other duties as assigned\. **Qualifications** Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related degree\. Other Qualifications: + Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office \(Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access\)\. + Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills\. + Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills, and attention to detail\. + Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi\-task in a fast\-paced environment\. + Construction background preferred\. + Minimum of a 3\.0 GPA strongly preferred\. + Involvement on campus or in the community preferred\. + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently \(i\.e\., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship\) in the country where this position is located\.
