Role description:

The domestic and international projects that we work on deliver industry leading Project Control Management services for complex Nuclear programmes of work. This role presents a genuine ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to be part of governmental and non-governmental backed Nuclear programmes, comprising exciting Major Projects for the right individuals to add to their CV and take up the challenge.

Arcadis are seeking flexible, dynamic individuals with UK Nationality required for UK National Security level to pass UKSV Security Clearance.  Supporting these highly challenging, interesting, and potentially rewarding programmes.

We are looking for an experienced Project Control Manager, to join our Nuclear Consultancy business and work on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work with some exciting clients from the Nuclear, Defence and other challenging Industries

Role accountabilities:

As a Project Control Manager within the Nuclear team, you will be required to:

Be responsible for building the organisational capability and adaptability to provide a step change in project controls for our clients. Drive collaborative working style between our clients, contractors and Arcadis. Take ownership on the projects / programmes for implementing improved project controls tools. Improve the transparency of the project controls function and reduce the ‘surprises’ at period and financial year end. Overall ownership and responsibility for project controls on the project / programme on which the PCM is based. Monitor and appraise the performance of the contractors for cost and schedule. Liaise with the client, project manager and contractors to ensure corrective actions are identified, actioned and delivered. Drive performance improvement across the projects / programmes. Share lessons learnt and ensure the consistency across the client's projects and programmes Lead the project controls team to deliver outcomes and improvements required. Drive the change in the level of project controls service the client requires. Lead and chair steering groups to ensure client expectations are met.

Qualifications & Experience:

Arcadis is seeking expert Project Control professionals with significant expertise in systems, performance management, risk management and recognised expertise in project and programme management

Required Criteria;

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience  Able to work with multiple stakeholders and delivering results through others Background in cost management, planning or project management in a multi discipline project environment Evidence of being able to work effectively in a programme management environment with contractors and other consultants.      Collaborative working style and consulting behaviours Able to be the key client face for the project controls service that we are delivering Able to lead other team members –e.g. cost engineers and planners to meet the deliverables and improvements as required Demonstrable experience in the leadership, management, building and development of teams Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills Evidence of leading steering groups with clients to drive change Ability to challenge and creatively seek out opportunities for performance improvement Be based at the client office where project teams are working, as well as at Arcadis offices Must be able to demonstrate expertise of cost/estimating/planning/scheduling process and tools  Must be able to demonstrate effective experience in earned value methodologies Experience in project execution of medium to large size of projects or programmes of work
