What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: The Field Project Quantity Surveyor (Civil/Structural) is responsible for the gathering, validation, analysis and reporting of construction physical progress. The Quantity Surveyor utilizing issued for construction engineered drawings, will prepare quantity takeoffs for each commodity (Civil/Structural) as necessary to support the stablished project breakdown structures. Conducts routine field walk throughs to quantify physical installed quantities. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out EVM tasks supporting in a timely and accurate manner the project controls and construction management efforts.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Elaborates quantity take offs and prepares pertinent tabular and graphic progress reports.
Follows AP’s standard established processes, procedures and formats required for corporate reporting and deliverables.
An active member of the PC Team collaborating and supporting project specific strategies and deliverables.
Assists the Lead Planner and Lead Cost Engineer with the maintenance of systems and tools as well as the preparation of routine reports.
Monitors compares and validates installed quantities reported by the construction contractors.
Assists in the validation of quantities reconciliation and reports discrepancies between engineering drawings and as built quantities.
Assists in the validation of field change orders.
Provides the Lead Planner and Lead Cost Engineer with physical installed quantities for the required construction EVM reporting.
Assists in the preparation and updating of standard corporate required construction progress and earned value reports.

Assists in developing alternatives to accommodate changes and priorities.
Attends construction meetings and participates by providing the applicable reports.
Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide schedule updates and recommendations.
Assists the home office staff with the coordination, monitoring, reporting of the construction progress and earned value activities.
The position is based at an industrial construction job site.
Ideal candidates must have strong experience in construction projects for the industrial gases or oil and gas/petrochemicals industries
Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires 15 or more years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
Proficiency in the interpretation of engineering drawings and the use of MS Excel is a must.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Scheduling software and tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Knowledge of project management principles and techniques, including schedule development, resource management, and risk analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
