Role description:
Arcadis seeks a Project Controls Manager to join our team in San Francisco to ensure the successful delivery of Caltrain projects by effectively managing project controls, including scheduling, cost management, risk mitigation, and quality assurance. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
The Project Controls Manager is responsible for ensuring effective planning, coordination, and execution of controls-related activities on Caltrain projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project controls principles and practices, as well as the ability to manage and mitigate risks associated with project schedules, costs, and performance.
Role Accountabilities:
Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera P6). Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and schedules. Monitor progress against baseline schedules and implement adjustments as necessary. Develop project budgets and forecasts in collaboration with project teams. Track project expenditures and analyze variances. Provide timely reports on cost performance to project stakeholders. Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Monitor and assess risks throughout the project lifecycle. Implement controls to minimize impact on project objectives. Implement controls to ensure adherence to project quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with specifications. Facilitate resolution of quality issues in collaboration with project teams. Establish and maintain document control processes. Ensure accurate documentation and filing of project-related correspondence, reports, and records. Facilitate access to project documents for relevant stakeholders. Act as a primary point of contact for controls-related inquiries. Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and subcontractors. Facilitate meetings and presentations to update stakeholders on project controls status.Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in project controls management, preferably on transportation infrastructure projects. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).Key Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and MS Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Caltrain procedures and regulations (preferred).Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred). Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or similar certifications (beneficial).

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
