Position Overview:
The Project Controls Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the Concrete Division, responsible for overseeing project controls, cost management, scheduling, risk analysis, document controls processes, and compliance functions. This position requires a strategic thinker with a robust understanding of project management principles, who can drive project success through effective controls, team collaboration, and adherence to compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the project controls team, setting objectives and ensuring alignment with overall project and company goals.Develop and implement comprehensive project controls strategies and systems for tracking project performance, costs, schedules, and compliance with industry standards.Oversee the management of document controls processes, ensuring accurate and timely documentation, filing, and retrieval of all project-related documents.Perform key compliance functions, ensuring projects adhere to industry regulations, company standards, and contractual obligations.Collaborate with project management and finance teams to establish budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage project funding.Guide the scheduling of projects, ensuring timelines are realistic, achievable, and compliant with contractual deadlines.Conduct risk management activities, identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies.Generate detailed reports on project status, including cost forecasts, schedule updates, compliance audits, and risk assessments for senior management.Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project controls function, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.Provide leadership and development opportunities to project controls team members, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls management within the construction or related industry.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.Demonstrated proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Timberline, Primavera, CMiC, etc.) and MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Superior communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with all levels of management, staff, and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20%) for project oversight and team collaboration.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime will be required. Travel will be required.
